Developing business leaders with AI and strategic insight for today’s intelligent enterprise
Earn a joint MBA from Kellogg and the McCormick School of Engineering
Today’s leaders need to be as effective working with technical teams as with the C-suite. However, there is a critical shortage of executives who are well-grounded in the rapidly changing world of artificial intelligence and technology more generally. To address this challenge, the McCormick School of Engineering and the Kellogg School of Management partnered to offer the MBAi program.
The program offers a combination of analytically focused Kellogg classes with McCormick technical courses designed for tech executives rather than computer science researchers. This program is focused on creating a tight-knit cohort of students who take the same core classes together. Many of these classes have been designed from scratch to focus on the specific MBAi mission and for the backgrounds of MBAi students.
Experiences with leading companies across a range of industries are central to the program. A summer internship allows students to experience work at companies, learn company culture, and develop relationships. Our capstone project program gives students the opportunity to work on hybrid teams with master's in AI students on projects with our corporate sponsors. Our speaker seminar series features leaders from a wide array of industries engaging directly with students on current challenges in the industry as well as the experiences that shaped their careers.

Unique Program Features
This fast-paced, fully integrated curriculum offers business courses designed with AI components and technology courses that emphasize organizational leadership. This unification distinguishes MBAi from other programs, which offer a siloed approach to subjects, teaching business and technology classes separately. The core focus of the program is to provide a cohesive end-to-end experience to a tight-knit group focused on one objective: create technically literate executives capable of leading AI-driven businesses.
The core MBAi classes are tailored to the MBAi mission. Rather than producing computer science researchers or data scientists, the goal is to provide the technical grounding and experiences relevant to developing leaders.
Students participate in a 10-week summer internship. Internships are followed by an optional week-long "Silicon Valley Experience" including on-site company visits and industry networking events.
In their final quarter, students engage in a capstone product lab experience, where they apply what they have learned to real industry projects. The teams, composed of both MBAi and MSAI students, allow learning and networking in a multidisciplinary environment where some partners bring strong technology backgrounds and others strong business backgrounds, similar to what they will encounter in the business world.
